Night drives and bush walks give guests the most close up contact with nocturnal animals, and smaller fauna and flora usually inaccessible with day game drives. Exploring the surrounding woodlands, riverbanks, and grasslands on foot is a not-to-be-missed opportunity at Khwai Tented Camp.
Why choose Khwai Tented Camp:
- Friendly, family atmosphere with exceptional service
- Low tourist numbers make this a peaceful and authentic spot for safari
- Beautiful setting on a Khwai tributary river bank
Staying at Khwai:
There are no permanent buildings at Khwai Tented Camp, so nature lovers will be glad to know that the camp can be removed without leaving a trace of human intervention on the natural landscape. Generators power the camp, and guests can rest assured their electronic devices such as cameras can be charged at the camp. The six tents are, however, not lacking in luxury – with private ensuite bathrooms, running water and comfortable beds.
There is also a family cottage that is fully enclosed for safety. Food at Khwai is also of a high standard, and all guest preferences are well catered for. Also, the camp is known for its excellent guides – so safaris here are always informative and exciting.
Because the community runs the concession, funds from the camp are funneled back into the local economy to uplift the local trade and people.
