Night drives and bush walks give guests the most close up contact with nocturnal and smaller fauna and flora usually inaccessible with day game drives. Exploring the surrounding woodlands, riverbanks and grasslands on foot is a not-to-be-missed opportunity at Khwai Tented Camp.
Why choose Khwai Tented Camp:
- Friendly, family atmosphere with exceptional service
- Low tourist numbers make this a peaceful and authentic spot for safari
- Beautiful setting on a Khwai tributary river bank
Staying at Khwai:
There are no permanent buildings at Khwai Tented Camp, so nature lovers will be glad to know that the camp can be removed without leaving a trace of human intervention on the natural landscape. Power is supplied through generators and guests can rest assured their electronic devices can be charged at the camp. The 6 tents are, however, not lacking in luxury – with private en-suite bathrooms, running water and comfortable beds.
There is also a family cottage that is fully enclosed for safety. Food at Khwai is also of a high standard and all guest preferences are well catered for. In addition, the camp is known for its excellent guides – so safaris here are always informative and exciting.
Because the concession is run by the community, funds from the camp are funneled back into the local economy in order to uplift the local trade and people.
