The water is still crystal clear, and nature has remained untouched. Mumbo Island Camp is so secluded that the only way to get to this deserted tropical island is by boat or kayak.
Why choose Mumbo Island Camp:
- Located on a small deserted island
- Best freshwater diving and snorkeling location on the planet.
- Authentic castaway holiday
Staying at Mumbo Island Camp:
The camp sits elevated on top of a rocky outcrop in between shady trees. It only takes 14 guests at one time, so it maintains it rustic, castaway atmosphere. The tents are comfortable and will have everything you need to enjoy a relaxed stay. Each tent also has a deck and a hammock to encourage guests to take it easy. The camp is eco-friendly, and as such makes use of hot bucket showers and eco-loos.
Motorized water sports are not allowed around the island to protect the very diverse and fragile species that populate its waters. Nature lovers can choose to kayak or walk around the island to discover secret spots and to look out for beautiful bird life. Scuba diving will also get your blood pumping. We highly recommend you laze away your afternoons looking out over the lake and listening for the cries of African fish eagle.
