Given its proximity next door to the Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (MOCAA) in the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, it should be no surprise that the designers have brought art and architectural form to the forefront of this deliberately unstuffy reimagining of a hotel for the twenty-first century. There are no bellhops in starched uniforms here – the staff come in T-shirts – and not even a check-in desk, with guests accessing their suites via the phone app.
The Suites
They come with facilities including a large-screen television (with streaming capabilities), fridge, king-sized bed, and large sliding windows leading to a balcony, some of which have views to Table Mountain and the harbourfront.
Public Areas
Bold and eclectic with a Scandinavian feel, the Radisson Red’s public areas include the OUIBar + KTCHN and RED ROOF pool, bar, and grill. The OUIBar + KTCHN’s beanbag-strewn interior celebrates Cape Town’s craft food and drink with sustainably-sourced meals, while the RED ROOF is the perfect place to watch the sun go down over Table Mountain or take a dip in the pool after a quick session in the fitness center.
Cape Town experience
Situated in the pedestrianized Victoria and Alfred Waterfront precinct, the departure point for the Robben Island ferry is just a two-minute stroll away. Beside the neighboring MOCAA gallery, Radisson Red is at the heart of the city. Cosmopolitan, hip, and with extraordinary natural beauty too, Cape Town has a wealth of experiences for visitors old and new from botanic gardens to circus schools.
Activities
Designed so that the guest is in control, suite’s contain fridges to keep drinks and snacks cool, while the 55-inch television screens are set-up to receive streaming from personal devices, and everything from check-in to room service is controlled via the Red phone app. In addition to the public spaces, there are also four events and games studios where colleagues or friends can meet in a playful and informal setting.
